Ground Segment

The Ground Segment of the HumSAT Mission is the link between the operators and the satellite. It is located at the Telecommunications School of the University of Vigo.

Although the design of the Station is focused on the HumSAT communications, the Station also supports the Ham Radio Bands of VHF, L-band and S-band. For the HumSAT link it provides two UHF antennas with circular polarizations.

The HumSAT Ground Station Control Room is near the antennas installation. One computer performs all the tracking tasks to control and monitor the hardware, and another hosts the Ground Station Software.

Furthermore, a smaller Station is also used for tracking as backup. This station is also in the Telecommunications School at the University of Vigo, and it is connected to GENSO network.
