Thermal & structure

The Thermal and Structure subsystem is in charge of giving mechanical support to the satellite and to provide a suitable thermal environment for al the elements of the satellite. It is composed by the structure, the antenna deployment mechanism (ADYM) and the thermal subsystem.

The main component is a 1U cubesat structure. It is mainly composed by Aluminum ribs, rods and frames, a number of screws and some switches to detect if the satellite was ejected or not. It also includes some extra sides of shielding to mitigate the high radiation levels of the HumSAT orbit.

The antenna deployment mechanism is an original design from the University of Vigo and deploys four monopoles.
